Ar/ge Kunst, Kunstverein in Bolzano, has changed its artistic directors since January 2023 and has turned into a platform for fabulation. This new narrative dimension is intended as a collective form of cultural production and as a means of opening up a space in which to imagine political action.
Novellas is the new series of books we imagined to accompany the artistic programme. A new short novel will be published with each new exhibition.Contributors come from diverse professional backgrounds—activism, poetry, law, linguistics. This narrative element is conceived as a collective form of cultural production, fostering deeper socio-political reflection.
I collaborate with a young artist from the Faculty of Art in Bolzano for each cover, inviting them to visually interpret the booklet’s contents. For the first seven issues the artists involved were: Jeremie Arpa, Alessia Frerotti, Carmine Auricchio, Arianna Casarin, Grete Rederer, Miriam Governatori Leonardi and Theresa Handig.
