The art course at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano began five years ago, practically no time at all. At its core it offers the possibility of experimenting with photography and video, space and sculpture, curating and performance, following an initial warm-up of our “engines” as we begin to understand how to move around this labyrinthine palace. Each practice occupies its own room, and each room houses specific modes, different personalities, different needs and languages, in an explosive kaleidoscope that is nevertheless full of contact points and common visions, to be traced with curiosity, slowly. Parallel Spaces was created to tell our story to others as much as to ourselves. The combinatory game we are telling is the one that we have undertaken first, walking through both the actual and the impalpable corridors of our building, looking out of room after room, and peeking to record what happens in our house.
